Contraindications

A
  • unable to swallow safely
  • allergy to aspirin or sensitivity, as in the case of some asthmatics
  • G.I. bleeding
  • bleeding disorder, such as hemophilia
  • Patient has taken a full dose of aspirin in prior six hours

Relative contraindications

A

(Benefit must outweigh risk of treatment, to be determined by Medical Director)

  • Pregnancy
  • Taking a blood thinner such as warfarin
  • Recent surgery
