Aspects of Yin Yang Relationship Flashcards
All things have a Yin and Yang Aspect, Everything is Relative through relationships
Opposition
Yin and Yang cannot exist without each other
Inter-Dependence
Yin and Yang are in a constant state of change for preserving balance
Homeostasis and amount change
Mutual Consuming or Inter-consuming-supporting
Yin and Yang can change into one another
Inter-Transforming
Yin and Yang aspect can be further divided into Yin Yang
Infinite Divisibility
Yin and Yang have equal amounts
Equilibrium/ Balance
Yin is larger than yang
Yin Excess or Excess Cold
Yang is larger than yin
Yang Excess or Excess Heat
Yang is less than Yin
Yang Deficiency or Deficient Cold
Yin is less than Yang
Yin Deficiency or Deficient Heat
Excess Cold in the body consumes the Yang, especially SP Yang (FULL COLD)
Excess of Yin (aspect of mutual consumption
Excess Heat consumes body fluids and leads to dryness (FULL HEAT)
Excess of Yang (aspect of mutual consumption
The decrease of Yang energy leads to symptoms of a relative excess of Yin, such as feelings of cold and chilliness (EMPTY COLD)
Consumption of Yang (aspect of mutual consumption)
The decrease of Yin leads to symptoms of relative excess of Yang, such as feelings of heat (EMPTY HEAT)
Consumption of Yin (aspect of mutual consumption)
Qi Deficiency
Yin within Yang (Qi is Yang and Deficiency is Yin)
Qi Stagnation
Yang within Yang
Blood Deficiency
Yin within Yin (Blood is Yin)
Blood Stasis
Yang within Yin
Surging Pulse
Yin within Yang
Slippery, Tight, Confined Pulses
Yang within Yin
Cold Can be divided further into icy cold and moderately cold
Infinite diviisibility
Deficiency of Spleen Yang can lead to Excess Dampness
Inter-Transformation (look for 8 principle Change)
The decrease of Yin leads to symptoms of relative Yang, such as feelings of Heat
Mutual consuming
When Yin Predominates, Yang will be diseased. When Yang Predominates Yin will be diseased
Opposition
Yin remains inside to act as a guard for Yang, and Yang stays outside to act as servant for yin
Inter-Dependence
Yin is the interior and is the material foundation of Yang; Yang is on the Exterior and is the manifestation of Yin.
Inter-Dependence
Without Yang there would be no production of Yin, Without Yin there would be no production of Yang
Inter-Dependence
In order to contract, it is necessary to first expand
Inter Dependence in the Dao De Jing
Consumption of Yin leading to Gaining of Yang, Consumption of Yang leading to Gaining of Yin
Mutual Consuming
Extreme Yin will necessarily produce Yang, and Extreme Yang will necessarily produce Yin; Severe Cold will give birth to Heat, and severe Heat will give birth to Cold
Inter-Transformation
Yin and Yang could amount to ten in number; the could be extended to one hundred, one thousand, ten thousand or infinity; but although infinitely divisible, Yin and Yang are based upon only one important principle.
Infinite Divisibility
