What is Asia like as the worldโs largest continent?
Stretching from the frozen Arctic to the hot Equator, Asia is by far the worldโs largest continent. Much of the land is barren, with vast, empty deserts and remote, treeless plains.
What mountains form a massive barrier in Asia?
The Himalayan mountains form a massive barrier between the heat of India to the south and the cold of Tibet to the north. The range is permanently snow-capped. The worldโs highest peak, Mount Everest, is located there.
What are some of the most fertile regions in Asia?
Asia also has some of the worldโs most fertile plains and valleys, particularly along the great rivers such as the Mekong, Yangtze, Indus, and Ganges.
How varied is Asiaโs vegetation?
Elsewhere, the vegetation is hugely varied. In the north there is cold, frozen tundra and dense coniferous forest. In the south-east, the land is mainly mountainous or covered in tropical rainforest that are teeming with wildlife.
