-be aware of sterile field:
-once gowned you are only sterile from chest to waist
-cuff on gowns are not sterile
-keep hands on blue drapes or folded across ribcage when not assisting
-if you break sterile field be HONEST

-nails must be less than 1/4 inch off finger, non chipped, no fake nails
-OR RN/scrub tech are you best friend
-ALWAYS ask surgeon permission to scrub
-introduce urself to room and get gloves/gown for tech
-introduce urself to pt and ask permission
-have questions prepared beforehand, practice skills required for case

-choose correct size
-find flat surface
-properly open package without contamination
-apply gloves while maintaining sterility
-remove gloves properly to protect urself

-open pack, pull open the tabs
-pick up right glove with left hand and open up for the right hand to enter
-slip right hand under the cuff of the left glove and pick it up
-use the left hand to shimy open
-fix the glove
-fix the cuff of the right glove

-ask the tech if they would like for you to open the gown and gloves for them
-have the tab facing you
-unfold each tab away from you and hold out the gown for the scrub tech to grab it
-scrub in
-then have scrub tech put on your gown and gloves

-open door with ur back
-put on gown -> dont put your hand through the sleeves
-put on right glove
-put on left glove by holding open the left glove cuff
-adjust
-have the scrub tech pull the tag and tie your gown
-spin
