cleansing measure intended to prevent disease

agent used on inanimate objects to destroy or inhibit the growth of microbes
Antiseptic
Agent used on live tissue to destroy or inhibit the growth of microbes.
Biocide
substance that destroys living things
bactericide
substance which kills bacteria
bacteriostat
prevents the growth of bacteria
