What are the risk factors?

A

all of causes of ASD are not known.
- Many different factors:
- Genetic - genes are one of risk factors that can make a X more likely to develop ASD
Ch who have a sibling with ASD - > chance
- Environmental
- Biologic

A

observations re how child grows and changes over time

- are they meeting typical dev milestones in playing, learning, speaking, behaving, moving (PLSBM)

A

closer look at development of child

  • more formal than dev monitoring
  • tools used - formal questionnaires/checklists re LMTBE - language, movement, thinking, behaviours emotions
