A
The sign of Gods presence when people of Israel had left Egypt in the Exodus. God was in the cloud- mysterious, not completely knowable by humans, he was holy

Why is ascension important?
A
It is further proof that Jesus is more than a man, but God himself and deserving praise and worship. Jesus ascended into heaven to reign with God.
