Q

What are 5 steps taken when asbestos is found?

A
  1. The duty holder must assess whether the premises contain asbestos, and it so, where it is and what condition it is in. If in doubt, materials must be presumed to contain asbestos.
  2. Assess the risk & produce an asbestos management plan - is
    encapsulating/removal needed?
  3. Produce an asbestos register.
4.Make the register available to all relevant parties who might disturb it.
  4. Review the register regularly (HSE recommend 6 monthly)
