As Imperceptibly as Grief Flashcards
“Imperceptibly”
From the title you would think the mood is quite dark (but it isn’t), slight, gradual, subtle, not to be perceived, slow change, title is unclear, doesn’t quite make sense, offers questions to the reader
“Grief”
Sadness, death, capitalisation=personification
“summer lapsed away”
Season is changing, summer is slowly leaving, changing, don’t notice the change (essence)
“Nature spending with herself”
Secluded (positive for her)
“A courteous, yet harrowing Grace”
Juxtaposition/oxymoron, poet is highly religious, approval of God, change in the season has come from God (positive)
“And thus, without a Wing”
Change has to happen (summer to Autumn), would be a disaster if it didn’t happen, couldn’t function
“Our Summer made her light escape into the beautiful”
Abstract, metaphor for the seasons changing, positive, Autumn is still seen as beautiful , come from God
