diagnostic criteria of Ankylosing spondylitis
A
diagnostic criteria:
- bilateral sacroiliitis
- +/- uveitis
- HLA-B27 positive

A
- cervical fractures common due to osteoporosis and long lever arms
- high rate of neurological injury
- mri - to assess for fracture line, haematoma, disc involvement and cord oedema

Ankylosing spondylitis xray findings:
A
- bamboo spine
- osteopenia
- marginal syndesmophytes

DISH
A
diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis
- diabetes
Diagnosis
- non-marginal syndesmophytes at three successive levels (4 contiguous vertebrae)
- preservation of disc space
- absence of facet-joint ankylosis
- absence of SI joint erosion
- no sacral involvement
