Aruba Products Flashcards
SP Unity EdgeConnect
physical or virtual appliances.
- Always-consistent, always-available application performance
- Highest quality of voice and video, across any combination of transport services
SP Unity Orchestrator
enables IT to rapidly and centrally define:
- Application Quality of Service and security policies to 1000s of sites
- Simplified service chaining to third-party network and security services
SP Unity Boost
optional WAN optimization performance pack:
- Improves the performance of latency-sensitive applications
- Reduces transmission of repetitive data
SP Virtual WAN Overlays
pplication-specific virtual WAN overlay model. Multiple overlays may be defined to abstract the underlying physical transport services from the virtual overlays, each supporting different QoS, transport, and failover characteristics.
SP Tunnel Bonding
Configured from two or more physical WAN transport services, bonded tunnels form a single logical overlay connection, aggregating the performance of all underlying links.
SP Dynamic Path Control (DPC)
Real-time traf- fic steering is applied over any broadband or MPLS link, or any combination of links based on company-defined policies based upon business intent. In the event of an outage or brownout, EdgeConnect automatically continues to carry traffic on the remaining links or switches over to a secondary connection.
SP WAN Hardening
EachWANoverlayissecured edge-to-edge via 256-bit AES encrypted tunnels. No unauthorized outside traffic can enter the branch. With the option to deploy EdgeConnect directly onto the internet, WAN hardening secures branch offices without the appliance sprawl and operating costs of deploying and managing dedicated firewalls.
SP Zone-based Firewall
Centrally visualize, define and orchestrate granular security policies and create secure end-to-end zones across any combination of users, application groups and virtual overlays, pushing configuration updates to sites in accordance with business intent. Using simple templates to create unique zones that enforce granular perimeter security policies across LAN-WAN-LAN and LAN-WAN-Data Center use cases.
SP Path Conditioning
This feature provides private-line-like performance over the public internet. Includes techniques to overcome the adverse effects of dropped and out-of-order packets that are common with broadband internet and MPLS connections to improve application performance.
SP First-packet iQ™ Application Classification
identifies applications on the first packet to deliver trusted SaaS and web traffic directly to the Internet while directing unknown or suspicious traffic to the data center firewall or IDS/ IPS. Identifying applications on the first packet is especially important when branches are deployed behind Network Address Translation (NAT); the correct path must be selected based on the first packet to avoid session interruption.
SP Local Internet Breakout
Granular, intelligent traffic steering enabled by First-packet iQ eliminates the inefficiency of backhauling all HTTP/ HTTPS traffic to the data center. The solution eliminates the potential for wasted bandwidth and performance bottlenecks for trusted SaaS and web traffic. Trusted traffic is sent directly across the Internet while unknown or suspicious traffic may be sent automatically to more robust security services in accordance with corporate security policies.
SP Cloud Intelligence
Real-time updates on the best performing path to reach hundreds of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications, ensuring users connect to those applications in the fastest, most intelligent way available. Additionally, automated daily updates of the application IP address database to EdgeConnect appliances keep pace with SaaS and web address changes.

Aruba zero-touch provisioning
devices can be factory-shipped directly to a remote site by automatically matching orders to an Aruba customer account, and a mobile Installer app is available for third-party systems integrators to quickly install equipment. Combined with configura- tion hierarchy, which assigns APs, switches, and gateways to site-specific configurations, networks are brought up very quickly.
Aruba headend gateways
he Aruba 7200 Series, virtual gateways, and certain Aruba 7000 Series platforms can act as these. establish VPN tunnels to one or more VPNCs over multiple providers networks. High availability options support multiple VPNCs deployed at a single site or deployed in pairs at multiple sites for the highest availability. The VPNC supports active/standby or active/active uplinks from the branch locations.
Aruba virtual gateways
simplifies branch network deployments for organizations that are migrating to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. They provide the ability to directly connect a branch to cloud instances, improving access to the resources hosted in a public cloud.
Aruba branch gateways
The Aruba 9000 Series, 7200 Series, and 7000 Series can operate as these to optimize and control WAN, LAN, and cloud security services. It provides routing, firewall, security, URL filtering, and WAN optimization.

Aruba access switches
Aruba 2930F, 2930M, 3810M, and 5400R family of switches connect wired devices to the branch network, such as APs, workstations, medical devices, multi-function printers, point-of-sale devices, and other devices that don’t support Wi-Fi or that do need higher performance than a wireless connection can provide. The access layer also provides PoE to devices such as APs, IP phones, and IP cameras. You can use the switches standalone or in a stacked configuration, depending on the number of ports needed at each location.
Aruba access points
Aruba AP-5xx models are dual radio 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 APs and the AP-3xx models are dual radio 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi 5 APs that support different throughput and client loads. With Aruba’s controllerless model called Instant, there is no central controller, and the controller functions are distributed among the APs. Instant is typically used in branch sites and scales up to 128 APs per cluster

Aruba Threat Detection
role-based Intrusion Detection System and Intrusion Prevention System (IDPS) capabilities are available in the 9000 series gateways. Aruba IDPS allows an organization to set security policies on individual- or role-based access to branch endpoints. It analyzes data packets entering the network and acts quickly to prevent threats in real time.
