An Inuit illustrator and prolific writer who drew attention on the negative impacts of colonialism, his art focused on Inuit culture. Worked with the Tunngavik Federation of Nunavut, an organisation fighting for the establishment of Nunavut as a territory in the 1980s, even doing an illustration for the cover of the proposal.

A Yanktonai Dakota modernist(??) painter from the Yankton Sioux Tribe. People said that his art is “not Indigenous enough” because of the techniques he used, where his letter addressed to The Curator of Indian Art provided greater artistic freedom to future Native artists.
