Q

Incisal Notches on Hanau Articulator

A

1st notch - 37mm
2nd notch - 51mm

Q

FHP-7mm?

A

FHP is used as a reference plane because it was found to best parallel the axis-orbital plane. Gonzales and Kingery found by using cephalometrics that FHP-7mm better approximated axis-orbital plane. Hanau articulator take this into account by raising the orbitale indicator 7mm.

Q

Why use a facebow that estimates hinge axis?

A

An error of 5mm of the THA produces a negligible 0.2mm AP displacement of md molars (Weinberg)

Q

Effect of increased CG on protrusive cusp inclines?

A

No effect. Occlusal plane inclination compensates.

Q

Effect of increasing CG on working cusp inclines?

A

Due to Hanau formula. A change in CG would produce a very small change in the bennett angle (H/8+12)

Q

How will error in facebow affect occlusion?

A

If facebow is too high, CG will be reduced. If CG is reduced, the bennett angle will also be reduced, which will affect working and balancing cusp inclines
