Define the BILL OF RIGHTS.

These are series of prescriptions setting forth the fundamental civil and political rights of the individual, and imposing limitations on the powers of government as a means of enjoyment of those rights.

What is the SIGNIFICANCE of the Bill of Rights?
A
Government is powerful. When unlimited, it becomes tyrannical. The Bill of Rights is a guarantee that there are certain areas of a person’s life, liberty, and property which governmental power may not touch.
