Bilateral knee disease
Ipsilateral Hip/ankle
Severe segmental bone loss
Contralateral amputation
active infection

A
- 10 deg flexion
- 5 valgus
- 10 deg ER - match other leg

- intramedullary nailing
- frame
- plate fixation

what are the common complications?
A
non-union - greatest risk
amputation
nail breakage - fatigue failure

what are the goals of treatment?
A
Removal implants
Prepare osseous beds
Radical debridement
Bone cuts in correct alignment
Good apposition
Bone defect management
