A
Atheromas (fatty deposits) + sclerosis (hardening of bv walls)

Process of atherosclerosis
A
- Chronic inflammation
- Activation of immune system
- Lipid deposition
- Fibrous atheromatous plaques
- Stiffening of walls –> hypertension
- Stenosis –> reduced blood flow –> angina
- Plaque rupture –> thrombosis –> ishcaemia (eg ACS)
