Arteriography Flashcards
What is arteriography?
The study of arteries with the injection of contrast media.
What are indications of abdominal aortagram?
The flush assesses arteries extending from the aorta and rules out abnormalities.
What is the order of the abdominal aorta selectives?
Celiac Hepatic Gastric Splenic Superior Mesenteric Right and Left Renal Arteries Inferior Mesenteric Lower extremities
The Celiac branches off into what branches?
Left gastric and Right splenic
Common Hepatic Arteries
At what level of the vertebra does the common hepatic and splenic artery lay?
T12
Starting with the Common Iliac what is the order of the arteries in the lower extremities?
Common iliac branches into: External Iliac and Internal iliac Common Femoral Profunda femoral Superficial femoral Popliteal Anterior tibial Peroneal Posterior tibial Dorsalis Pedis
What are the 3 vessels that stem from the aortic arch?
Brachiocephalic
Left Common Carotid
Left Subclavian
What is the best patient position in order to view the whole arch?
RAO
What is the order of the Aortic Arch Selectives?
Left subclavian-Left Vertebral
Left Carodtid
Brachiocephalic-Rt subclavian- rt vertebral
Left Heart catheterization-Coronary arteries
The common carotid bifurcates into what and at what level of vertebra?
Internal and external carotid at C4
What is the internal carotid responsible for?
At the bifurcation it is dilated and called the carotid sinus and assists with regulation of blood pressure.
What does the internal carotid after supply?
frontal, parietal, and temporal lobes
What landmarks are associated wit the internal carotid artery?
Carotid Siphon
Sylvian Triangle
The middle cerebral artery is located where?
laterally
The anterior cerebral artery is located where?
Medially
