Vertebral
- travels superiorly medial to scalene, through transverse foramen of cervical vertebrae and through foramen magnum
- supplies: brain, spinal cord, meninges
Internal thoracic
- enter thorax and run lateral to sternum
- supplies: anterior thoracic wall and medial breast
inferior thyroid
- travels medially off thyrocervical trunk
- supplies: thyroid, parathyroid, larynx, trachea, esophagus, infrahyoid muscles
ascending cervical
- travels superiorly
- supplies scalenes
transverse cervical (superior cervical)
- travels posteriorly, deep to trapezius
- supplies trapezius
transverse cervical (dorsal scapular)
- travels posteriorly, deep to trapezius
- supplies levator scapulae, rhomboids
suprascapular
- travel posteriorly above superior transverse scapular ligament crossing supra scapular notch
- supplies supraspinatus, infraspinatus
superior intercostal
- travel inferiorly
- supplies 1st and 2nd intercostal spaces
deep cervical
- travel superiorly
- semispinalis muscles
superior thoracic
- travel inferiorly
- 1st and 2nd intercostal spaces
thoracoacromial
- near medial border of pectorals minor
- 4 branches supply: clavicular, acromial, deltoid, pectoral
lateral thoracic
- near lateral border of pectorals minor, travel inferiorly
- supply lateral thoracic wall and lateral aspect of breast
anterior and posterior circumflex humeral
- travel laterally around surgical neck of humerus
- supply glenohumeral joint and surrounding muscles
subscapular
- travel inferiorly and divide into circumflex scapular and thoracordorsal
circumflex scapular
- travel posteriorly around lateral border of scapula
- supply muscles of posterior scapula
