Vertebral
- travels superiorly medial to scalene, through transverse foramen of cervical vertebrae and through foramen magnum
- supplies: brain, spinal cord, meninges
Internal thoracic
- enter thorax and run lateral to sternum
- supplies: anterior thoracic wall and medial breast
inferior thyroid
- travels medially off thyrocervical trunk
- supplies: thyroid, parathyroid, larynx, trachea, esophagus, infrahyoid muscles
ascending cervical
- travels superiorly
- supplies scalenes
transverse cervical (superior cervical)
- travels posteriorly, deep to trapezius
- supplies trapezius
transverse cervical (dorsal scapular)
- travels posteriorly, deep to trapezius
- supplies levator scapulae, rhomboids
suprascapular
- travel posteriorly above superior transverse scapular ligament crossing supra scapular notch
- supplies supraspinatus, infraspinatus
superior intercostal
- travel inferiorly
- supplies 1st and 2nd intercostal spaces
deep cervical
- travel superiorly
- semispinalis muscles
superior thoracic
- travel inferiorly
- 1st and 2nd intercostal spaces
thoracoacromial
- near medial border of pectorals minor
- 4 branches supply: clavicular, acromial, deltoid, pectoral
lateral thoracic
- near lateral border of pectorals minor, travel inferiorly
- supply lateral thoracic wall and lateral aspect of breast
anterior and posterior circumflex humeral
- travel laterally around surgical neck of humerus
- supply glenohumeral joint and surrounding muscles
subscapular
- travel inferiorly and divide into circumflex scapular and thoracordorsal
circumflex scapular
- travel posteriorly around lateral border of scapula
- supply muscles of posterior scapula
thoracodorsal
- travel inferiorly
- supply latissimus dorsi
brachial
- travel through medial arm superficial to muscles; in medial bicipital groove between biceps brachii and brachial
- supply arm, forearm, hand
deep artery of arm
- travel posteriorly between long and medial head of triceps; between lateral head of triceps and humerus in the radial groove with radial nerve
- supply posterior arm, elbow
radial artery
- travel deep to brachioradialis in proximal forearm; superficial in distal forearm lateral to flexor carpi radials tendon; lateral to distal radius and passes across snuff box to enter dorsal hand
- supply elbow, anterior and lateral forearm, lateral hand
ulnar artery
- travel deep to flexor digitorum superficialis; superficial to flexor retinaculum to enter hand
- supply elbow, posterior, medial and deep anterior forearm, medial hand
anterior interosseous artery
- travel on the anterior surface of the interosseous membrane
- supply deep anterior forearm and wrist
posterior interosseous artery
- travel on posterior surface of interosseous membrane
- supply elbow, posterior forearm and wrist
palmar carpal arch
- travel deep to flexor tendon
- supply anterior wrist
dorsal carpal arch
- travel deep to extensor tendons
- supply posterior wrist, hand and fingers
