4 - infection or hematoma
5 - med-high anticoagulants or fibrinolytic

A
- syringe
- syringe cap
- safety needle
- disinfectant
- gauze
- towel to hyperextend wrist (if needed)

What angle do you hold needle for ABG puncture?
A
30-45 degrees with bevel up

What are you documenting after an ABG?
A
- what did you do
- when did you do it
- what were your observation prior/during the intervention
- what did the patient say/do? what steps did you take, and what was the outcome?
- what are your plans for the future (i.e. follow up)
