Pareidolon
Anytime you see a figure in an accidental pattern, like seeing the face in the rock
Composite view
The head in profile but the feet or legs straight on, so more than one perspective

High, Low, Sunken or Raised. When the work is still connected to the wall

This was used on the top of Ziggurats and the hanging gardens to keep plants alive

Ensoulment
This is the idea that the soul is in an image, this is why they would raw the bill over the part of the rock that already looked like it followed the shape of a bull
Embodiment
Taking the actual thing, like Jericho skulls, and taxidermy. It represents the thing using the actual thing
Apotropaic
Wards off evil using the thing that is evil itself, like carving an alligator in to a totem, or gargoyles on a cathedral
