What is a subject in art?
The persons, things, signs, or ideas represented in an artwork that express the artists inspiration or intention.
What is a measurable area of defined or occupied space?

What is representational art?
A type of art in which the subject is presented through the visual art elements lens in a way that the observer is reminded of actual objects. See naturalism and realism.
What is an example of unity in art?
Using a mother color to mix into all other colors of the painting.
What makes an art piece three-dimensional?
Possesses a dimension of depth in addition to height and width.
What is an artist technique?
The manner with which an artist uses tools and materials to achieve and expressive effect.
What is the interval or measurable distance between points or images?
Space
What are the three qualities of a plane?
1 - An area that is essentially two-dimensional having height and width. 2- A flat or level surface. 3 - A two dimensional surface having a positive extension and special direction or position.
What is it called when you use the elements of art to create and illusion of the third dimension on a two dimensional surface?
Plastic art (architecture, sculpture, ceramics)
What’s a positive area?
The portion of an artwork in which the art elements (shape, line, etc.), or their combination, produce the subject - nonrepresentational or recognizable images.
The style of art that creates an impression of visual actuality without going to extremes of detail while attempting to relate and interpret universal meanings that lie beneath the surface appearances.
Realism
What is abstraction?
The selection, simplification, and/or arrangement of the representation of natural appearance. Simply arranged to satisfy the artists needs for organization or expression.
Aesthetic
A branch of philosophy concerned with the theory of the beautiful. Attempts to discover the origin of the art experience and it’s relationship between art and other aspects of culture.
