Value
The lightness or darker of a color
Gradation
A shading technique in which there is a gradual change in value from light to dark.
Blending
A shading technique that shows value without seeing lines
Hatching
A shading technique that shows value by drawing closely spaced parallel lines
Crosshatching
A shading technique that shows value by drawing layers of parallel lines that go in various directions
Hue
Another word for color
Color wheel
A circular diagram of the spectrum used to show the relationships between the colors
Primary colors
These colors from the basis for color theory or color mixing
Tertiary colors
A color frowned when a primary color is mixed with an adjacent secondary color
Tints
The result of adding white to a hue to produce a lighter hue
Shades
The result of adding black to a hue to produce a darker hue

The process of designing and producing prints using a printing block

A point at which parallel lines seem to meet

Also called aerial perspective is the effect you get when far away objects take on the colors of atmosphere haze.
