Why is prehistoric art precious?
Because it tells us how how people before history was recorded lived
What happened during the Stone Age?
It was believed that some of the first art was created and the first tools and weapons were were made out of stones.
Why was the environment harsh?
Because of the extreme temperatures and people were outnumbered by animals.
Where did the prehistoric people paint?
On cave walls they also worshiped in the caves.
What type of pigments did they use
They used natural earth pigments
What colour did they use?
Red,yellow,brown,black and violet but never green or blue.
What did they paint with?
Feathers,bones and their fingers.
Where have most of the famous cave paintings been found?
Lascaux in France and in Altamira in Spain
What did Stone Age people paint?
The animals that surrounded them mostly what they hunted
What is a mural ?
A mural is a large painting on the wall.
Where were the murals made?
Deep inside the caves where it was dark in narrow passages.
