Can a soldier enroll in ASAP to avoid pending disciplinary action?
NO
Can a soldier enrolled in ASAP reenlist?
No, but a soldier can extend his or her service long enough to complete the program and then apply to reenlist

- Any major consistent change in a soldier’s normal performance, such as failure to show for duty or tardiness
- Signs of a hangover
- Fighting
- Deterioration in personal apperance

Never, alcoholism is an incurable disease. The alcoholic can only be considered as recovering
Who makes the final decision as the rehabilitative success or failure?
Both the unit commander and the ASAP counselor
When is a soldier considered a rehab failure?
When he or she is unable or unwilling to be returned to effetive duty after shor-term rehab efforts
Can the fact that a soldier had been enrolled in ASAP be revealed without the soldier’s permission?

What is the Unit Prevention Leader’s role in the ASAP?
1, Design, impletmen, and evaluate the unit’s ASAP plan
- Assist in breifing all new personnel on ASAP
- Administer the unit biochemical testing program
- Keep the commander informed on ASAP trends
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver prevention education material and training
- Be a liaison with the ASAp counseling center or medical unit when deployed
What rank must the UPL be?
Officer or NCO that is an E5 or above
What are the rehabilitation objectives of the ASAP?
1 Return soldiers to full duty as soon as possible
2 Identify soldiers who cannot be rehabilitated
3 Assist and refer soldiers who are discharged to a treatment facility in the vicinity of where they reside
4 Help resolve substance abuse problems in the families of soldiers
What are some of the ASAp principles?
1 Substance abuse is inconsistent with the Army values and the standards of performance, discipline, and readiness
- Unit Commanders must intervene early
- ASAP is mandatory for all command-refered soldiers
- Substance abusers may be enrolled in ASAP when clinically recommended
- Soldiers who fail to participate or respond successfully to the program will be processed for administrative separation
- Alcohol and drug abuse will be addressed in a single program
- Unit commanders retain their authority to make personnel decisions
- The confidential nature of ASAP treatment records will be preserved
- Prevention and education will be given the highest priority
