They want us to take service to Canada over service to ourselves, sacrifices, and undergo difficult training, dedication and following orders despite hardship

What are the attendance rules for basic training?
- You must attend the qualification courses within a set timeframe
- if you miss you might be removed
- injuries, illness, and emergencies are the exceptions
What is course mode?
- During the course weekends, you remain there throughout the whole weekend, returning Sunday evening
- structured days are 6am-6pm
What are the safety expectations for basic training?
- it is a risk to safety
- Handling weapons and tools that can result in injury or death
- cellphone use is controlled for safety to have full attention

What kind of member is a medical assistant?
Non commissioned member- part time
Role of a medical assistant:
- assist medical officers and nursing officers
- treat sick and injured in CAF units and operations
What is the medical assistant position available through?
Health services reserve
What are the 9 duties of MA:
- Initial care for patients
- Basic life support in trauma cases
- Health assessments
- Environmental health and preventative medicine duties
- Initiate, maintain, distribute medical records and documents
- Medical support on weapons ranges and training exercises
- Operate and maintain life support equipment
- Maintain, replenish and account for medical supplies

Who could the MAs work with?

What exactly are non commissioned officers?
They provide operational and support services, start out as recruits and are trained to do specific jobs
What is the unit training schedule?
September to may
Wednesday evenings from 7-10
One weekend each month- Friday night until Sunday night

- Maintain existing skills and training
- Knowledge lectures
- Equipment maintenance
- Weekend training exercises
- Routine administration
- Work towards skills necessary for next level of training
- Regimental activities (dinners and adventure training)
