O=Supracondylar ridge of humerus
I= outside of radius styloid process
A=flexes elbow
Extensor carpi radialis longus
O= ridge of humerus
-terminates tendon along radius and beneath extensor tendon of thumb
I=metacarpal bone of the index (2nd) finger
A= Aid in extending wrist and abducting hand
Pronator Teres
O=Humeral head: medial Epicondyle of humerus
O=ulna head:coronoid process of ulna
I=middle of Radial bone shaft
A=rotates radius on ulna pronating forearm
Pectoralis major
O=Scapula p;lateral and medial heads at humerus shaft
I=inserts at olecranon process of ulna
A=arm extension at elbow;slightly extends and adducts humerus; stabilizes humerus
Latissimus Dorsi
O= indirectly via fascia into spinous processes of lower thoracic vertebrae; lower ribs; sacrum and iliac crest
I= bottom of bicipital groove of humerus
A=adduction, extension and medial rotation of humerus
Pronator Quadratus
O= pronator ridge on distal end of ulna shaft
I= distal end of radius shaft
A=pronates arm and opposes separation of ulna/radial ends
Flexor Digitorum superficialis
O=Humeral head: common tendon of humerus Epicondyle
O=radial head: radius
-separates into 2 planes
I= superficial plane: tendons of middle and ring fingers
I=deep plane: Tendons of index and little finger
A=flexes phalanges and aid I flexing wrist
Abductor policies longus
O=shaft of radius and ulna
I=radial side of 1st thumb phalanx
A=abducts thumb
Extensor digiti minimi
O=common extensor tendon from lateral Epicondyle of humerus
-Divides in 2 as crosses hand
I= extensor tendon of little finger
A=extends little finger and assists in wrist extension
Anconeus
O=Epicondyle of humerus
I=olecranon process and shaft of ulna
A=assists extension of elbow
Extensor carpi Radialis Brevis
O= Epicondyle of humerus
I=base of 3rd metacarpal
A=extends wrist and abducts hand
Flexor Carpi Radialis
O=Epicondyle of humerus
I=base of index and middle finger metacarpals
A= Aids in flexing wrist and abducting hand
Flexor Carpi Ulnaris
O=Humeral head: Epicondyle of humerus
O= ulnar head: olecranon process of ulna
-terminates in tendon of lower half muscle
I= pisiform and hamate bone; 5th metacarpal
A= flexing wrist and adducting hand
Triceps Brachii
O=scapula; lateral and medial heads at humerus shaft
I= insertions at olecranon process of ulna
A=arm extension at elbow;slightly extends and adducts humerus; stabilizes humerus
Brachialis
O=lower front of humerus
I=coronoid process of ulna and tuberosity of ulna
A=flexes elbow
