Q

subtracting mixed numbers

A

Example: 5 5/7 - 2 ⅓
first subtract the whole numbers
5 - 2 = 3

then multiply the numerator of the first expression with the denominator of the second expression and vice versa and subtract
15 - 7 = 8

multiply the denominators to get the denominator value
7 x 3 = 21

3 8/21
