Area, Volume, Density, Speed, Velocity & Acceleration Flashcards
How do you find the area of a rectangle?
To find the area of a rectangle you multiply the length by the width ( L ✖️ W )
What is the area of any shape?
The area of any shape is the amount of surface enclosed within its boundary lines.
How do you find the area of a triangle?
To find the area of a triangle you multiply half the base by the perpendicular height. ( 1/2b ✖️ H )
How do you calculate the area of a circle?
To find the area of a circle you multiply pie by the radius squared. ( 3.14 ✖️ (radius)2)
Define volume.
Volume is the amount of space an object takes up.
What are burettes/pipettes used for?
These are used for transferring definite amounts of liquid.
Give the three steps in finding density in an object:
(i) find the mass of the object
(ii) find the volume of the object
(iii) divide the mass by the volume of the object.
What is velocity?
Velocity is the speed in a given direction.
What is acceleration?
Acceleration is the rate of change of speed or velocity.
What is speed/velocity measured in?
Speed/velocity is measured in m/s
What is acceleration measured in?
Acceleration is measured in m/s2
