Arduino Flashcards
Diode
Ensures electricity only flows in one direction
Gels (red, green, blue)
Filter out different wavelengths of light
H-bridge
Circuit that allows you to control the polarity of the voltage applied to a load
Jumper wires
Connects components on breadboard to each other Arduino
Light emitting diodes (LEDs)
Diode that illuminates when electricity passes through it
Liquid crystal display (LCD)
A type of alphanumeric or graphic display based on liquid crystals
Male header pins
Fit into female sockets like those on a breadboard
Optocoupler
Allows you to connect two circuits that do not share a common power supply
Piezo
Electrical component that can detect vibrations and create noises
Photoresistor
Variable resistor that changes its resistance based on the amount of light that fall on its face
Potentiometer
Variable resistor with three pins, outside pins are connected to fixed resistor, middle pin moves across the resistor
Pushbutton
Momentary switches that close a circuit when pressed
Resistors
Resist the flow of electrical energy in a circuit, changing the voltage and current as a result
Servo motor
Geared motor that can only rotate 180 degrees
Temperature sensor
Changes its voltage output depending on the temperature of the component
