- gave trade unions immunity in relation to actions in tort
- gave members immunity from liability for conspiracy and inducement of breach of contract when acting ‘in contemplation or futherance of a trade dispute’

A
- in this act “employee” means an individual who has entered into or works under (or, where the employment has ceases, worked under) a contract of employement
- in this act “contract of employemnt means a contract of service or apprentinceship, whether express or implied, and (if it express) whether oral or in writing
- in this act a “worker” (except in the phrases “shop worker” and “betting worker” means who has entered into or works under (or, where the employemnt has ceases, worked under)-
(a) a contract of employment, or
(b) any other contract, whether express or implied and (if it is express) whether oral or in writing, whereby the individuals undertakes to do or perform personally any work or servives for another party to the contract whose status os not by virtue of the contract that of a client or customer of any profession or business undertaking carried on by the individual;
and any refrence to a worker’s contract shall be construed accordingly
