It is loosely in the form of Ternary, meaning ABA, however there are many small sections in the B section, yet the A section re-occurs often.

Kristopher Spike, is a little known off Australian composer, now living in Chicago was born in 1959. Many of his compositions are inspired by his concern for environmental issues and his love of nature and the outdoors. He has recorded 5 CDs of his chamber music compositions and has had music played regularly on the ABC Classic FM.

Since there is limited information about Spike, there is no evidence that Kristopher Spike was influenced and had influenced anyone, however he was probably influenced by famous 21st Century Composers such as Kerin Bailey and Andy Firth.

Kristopher Spike has composed Chamber Music such as the West Highland Wander. (it describes the memory of the walk that Spike did with his daughter in 2018 through the Scottish Highlands), as well as Ecossaise which was a piece created for flute solo’s.

In the 21st Century, many other types of music were popular such as the revolutionized music around technology, using software synthesizers and online platforms to edit music and the use of simple, repetitive structures, especially in songwriting and wind instrument solo’s.

From the Start to Bar 20, it is in the key of C major, in Bar 19 it changes to B flat Major all the way until 73, where it goes back to the original key of C major which continues until Bar 87 where it then changes to D flat major until the end.

An Arabesque is a form of artistic decoration, in the form of patterns and other decorative elements which is shown in the piece well through out all the grace notes and decorations.
