It was a British attempt at peace which suggested limiting Jewish immigration to 10 000 in the next 5 years.

Nasser bought weapons from USSR.
USA and Britain stopped loan for Aswan Dam.
Nasser nationalises Suez Canal to make up the funding.
Israelis use this as an excuse to invade and remove the Fedayeen.
French and British planned this with them and invade under the pretences of stopping the conflict.
They did not consult the UN or the USA.
They got the dam back, Israelis got rid of the fedayeen.
USA asks France and Britain to leave, they do.
