Mercantilism

Boston Massacre
When colonists started insulting and hurting red coats. The red coats fired and killed 5 colonists. Crispus Attucks was the first one killed.
Boston Tea Party
When American colonists dressed as Native Americans boarded 3 merchant ships in Boston Harbor and dumped 342 chests of tea ($1.7m) into the water.
Intolerable Acts
in response to Boston Tea Party, 4 acts passed in 1774, Port of Boston closed, reduced power of assemblies in colonies, permitted royal officers to be tried elsewhere, provided for quartering of troops in barns and empty houses
Olive Branch petition
A petition to the king declaring peace. King George ignored it.
