Open wounds/recent surgery
Tracheotomy
Decompensated CHF or unstable angina
Active infection/fever (water, droplet, and airborne)
Severe respiratory dysfunction ( complications)
Bleeding disorders
Severe PVD

Colostomy
Neurological disorders
** Ataxic patient: may have increased motor control difficulties
Seizure disorders (Careful with epilepsy; Ensure compliant with meds )
Respiratory disorders
**Lung expansion may be inhibited
Cardiac dysfunction
***Increased work for CHF and DM II
Fear of water
When to use cold aquatic therapy -3
- inflammation ( redness, swelling) like in acute RA
- reduce spasticity
- intense aerobic exercise
When to use warm aquatic therapy-3
1- mobility,
2- flexibility,
3- muscle relaxation.
when to use cool aquatic therapy - 3
1- Gen therex,
2- gait training,
3- strengthening.
