EASE program (enhancement for active seniors) up to 95% subsidy of cost to install handrails and anti slip flooring in houses for senior’s to aid their mobility and prevent injuries
Competitive (bad retirement)

Most pessimistic when it comes to retirement, believe in work until they die. Work as hard/harder to other generations. 49h/week is only lower than India 52. Half pessimistic about immediate career prospects, not confident to get equal or better income in next 3 months if they were to lose their source of income tmr.
Pragmatic
Singapore, old Adage “it is better to die than to fall sick” resonated with many Singaporeans. 72% believe “we cannot afford to get sick these days due to the high medical costs” according to a 2012 Mindshare survey. Nursing home fees in Singapore range from $1200 to $3500 a month. 8 in 10 nursing home patients have per capita monthly household income of $700 and below. Despite receiving the maximum subsidy of 75%, which brings their share to $450 to $500 a month. Many poor families cannot afford that amount.
Risk-averse
CPF Central provident fund. Compulsory retirement savings plan. Raised the withdrawal limits. Government sponsored annuity scheme. CPF Life national annuity scheme available to CPF members promises monthly payout of $1200 in cash fron age 6t for life. There must be a minimum sum of $155,000 in their CPF account

Silver support bonus payment for poor elderly supplements incomes of lifelong low income elderly who less retirement support target bottom 20% of singaporeans aged 65 and above
limited resources/scarcity
Singaporeans need at least 1 million dollars to maintain a comfortable standard of living after retirement. HSBC Future of Retirement report, future retirees in Singapore expect their savings to last just 13 out of average 23 years in retirement. Retirement age 62, Retirement and Re-employment Act revised ti extend re-employment age from 65 to 67, allowing Singaporeans to work for at least 5 more years after retirement
Competitive and hence no time
Busy lifestyle. Smaller family size. Not much time to spend with elderly parents. Ever-rising levels of Individualism, apathy, weakening of family unit. Fast paced society. Alienated, lonely, ignored. Many are turning to suicide. 2017 record 129 60 and older committed suicide. More abuse by children. Abuse varies from psychological and physical mistreatment to financial exploitation. Elderly who pass away and are not known.
Madam Crystal Tan, elderly man in the family, active lifestyle but stroke, scared to leave house, afraid to fall/ill/cause trouble. Socially disconnected.
medishield
Medishield only paid 4.50 of the senior’s 4477 post subsidy bill for cataract surgery. Expected 90% of it was covered. Insurance scheme idea is to meet heavy bills but criticised that withdrawal limits and deductible implemented defeat the purpose of insurance
Apathetic/Idolent(lazy)
Singapore is currently experiencing a waste “epidemic”. Singapore’s recycling rate has sat at a constant low. According to the National Environment Agency (NEA), the domestic recycling rate fell from 22 per cent in 2018 to 17 per cent in 2019.

competitive schools
More than 80 parents lined up for 50 volunteer spots at Mee Toh Primary School in 2014. Parent volunteers get priority for their child to enroll into the school in 2017
More than 300 parents spent over 6 hours queueing overnight on Saturday at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts with sleeping bags and food prepared, to snag the class timings which are on first come first serve basis
