This is the movement to stop slave trade across the Atlantic and enslaved people everywhere. This movement gained a lot of followers in the 18th century. The slave trade was banned before actual slavery was.
Abolition Movement 5.1
This is the belief that knowledge comes from actually experience, from what you see or observe from your experience, also including through your experiments. Instead of relying of what you should do from other principles provided from other traditions and religions.
Empiricism 5.1
The empires and trade routes are expanding and also led to more interactions. Intellectuals in the 17th and 18th centuries like Descartes started to highlight reasons over tradition and individualism over community.
Enlightenments 5.1
This movement is the movement for women and their rights in society. Mary Wollstonecraft was a writer that wrote a book called “A Vindication of the Rights of Women” and in it she argued for the women’s right to be able to have the same education that men get. In Seneca Falls, New York, another group of women that would fight for the right to vote. They would say that men and women were created equal and that women deserve the right to vote, hold office, hold property, and manage their own business.
Suffrage movement 5.1
The idea for the American revolution started from a philosophy in Europe called the Enlightenment. The ideas of the physiocrats also helped in the American revolution because it added a defense of free market ideas which was different from the English mercantilism. Also the American citizens grew highly independent politically. The colonist and the King in London were very far apart and it was very hard for him govern them because of this. Soon the desire of being independent from him in the colonies became a high desire. July 4, 1776 was the day that the declaration of independence was written and it started the fight against the British rule. The colonies won the battle in 1783 because of the help of Britain’s rival, France.
American Revolution 5.2
A big revolt in south America trying to gain their independence from Spain.
Bolivar Revolutions 5.2
John Locke was credited as the father of classical liberalism. He is also the one that creates a political ideology that supports the change for limited government action that would create a free market.
Classical Liberalism 5.2
After bad voting right, a crashed economy and a famine causing the poor people to go hungry, many people of the third French estate would then revolt against the French government. After they won, they changed their laws to be based on the natural rights of man but also kill anyone that would disagree with their new laws that they passed. Robespierre and Napoleon were the most well known leaders of the revolution.

Slaves battled with the French empire while they were also dealing with a Revolution also known as the French Revolution.
Haitian Revolution 5.2
This was a political ideology that your nation is superior to other nations. If you are from another nation, like a foreigner, then you were considered less equal then the people who were born in that nation.
Nationalism 5.2
With the Agricultural revolution that helped farming become easier with the help of tools caused less people to have to work on farms. So people would migrate to the cities in search for jobs. Most of these people got jobs in factories.
Causes of Industrialization 5.3
With the industrial revolution, many factories were built and it also brought new jobs to people. These people would be responsible for a single thing that they had to produce.
Factory system 5.3
When a nation starts to adapt to how things are starting to be produced and the new ways of producing these things. This was causing people to move away from agriculture.
Industrialization 5.4
When different energy sources were discovered and utilized in a multitude of ways like coal and oil.
When new energy sources were found and soon were used in new ways like oil with the steam ships or the coal for fire.
Fossil Fuels Revolution 5.5
In the industrial revolution their was a lot of new things that were invented for communication. Some examples are the telegram that was invented by David Alter, railroads that was build by immigrant workers in the US, and steam ships that was also invented with the steam engines.
