The idea for the American revolution started from a philosophy in Europe called the Enlightenment. The ideas of the physiocrats also helped in the American revolution because it added a defense of free market ideas which was different from the English mercantilism. Also the American citizens grew highly independent politically. The colonist and the King in London were very far apart and it was very hard for him govern them because of this. Soon the desire of being independent from him in the colonies became a high desire. July 4, 1776 was the day that the declaration of independence was written and it started the fight against the British rule. The colonies won the battle in 1783 because of the help of Britain’s rival, France.
