Pilgrims and Puritans contrasted

A

Pilgrims were separatists who wanted to be free from the Anglican Church because they didn’t believe it could be changed so they fled. Puritans believed that the Church of England could be changed and went to the Americas to set up the perfect church.

Bacons rebellion

A

1676- Nathaniel bacon and other western Virginians rebelled after Berkeley, Virginias governor had given the Indians land after they attacked the westerners and bacon formed an army and attacked the Indians and then burned down Jamestown.

Georgia, James Oglethorpe

A

Georgia was created as a barrier between Spanish Florida and the English Carolina. James Oglethorpe was the brute leader of the colony and forbade Catholicism, booze, and slaves. This led to colonist revolt and slavery was allowed.
