Something that is surprising or opposite to what you think it should be or what someone says
Ironic (Ex: it is ironic that you keep telling me to be quiet during the movie, yet you keep talking to me.)
To frighten someone; to make someone feel fearful, timid or inferior
Intimidate (Ex: The bully tried to intimidate the smaller child.)
Someone who mostly keeps to themselves; shy; very quiet; not outgoing or friendly
Introvert (Ex: The little boy was very introverted at his new school because he didn’t know anyone.)
Very friendly; interested in talking to and being with others; outgoing
Extrovert (Ex: The principal of the school showed she was an extrovert by talking to everyone at open house.)
This phrase comes from the French language and literally means a false step. The expression means to make a social mistake; to show poor manners; to be in an embarrassing situation
Faux pas (Ex: The child made a faux pas when she asked her teacher how old she was.)
Extremely intelligent and clever; adept at figuring out and inventing new things; resourceful
Ingenious (Ex: The ingenious scientist invented a car that needs only water to run.)
