Stabilized Approach Concept
The pilot establishes and maintains a constant and straight descent to an aiming point on the runway for touchdown. If no round out is down for the landing, then the plane will touchdown at the aiming point. During this approach the shape of the runway should not change, but should remain the same and simply grow larger as you approach the runway.
Round out
Flare
Transition from a normal approach attitude to a landing attitude. The aircraft when only about 10-20 feet above the runway begins this maneuver, gradually making the flight path parallel to the runway and only inches above it. This maneuver continues through until touchdown.
Turbulent Air Approach and Landing
Faster airspeed should be maintained for more positive control. Many pilots often use half of the gust speeds plus the normal approach speed as the approach airspeed under turbulent conditions. The airspeed and flap setting should be what the AFM/POH recommends
