- Interim AVO

What is a Provisional AVO?
A
The Police apply for this AVO if they have immediate fears for the safety of the PINOP.
- Remains in force until revoked, withdrawn, dismissed
- AVO granted by a senior PO Sgt. or above, or the central justice panel
- AVO in effect from the moment it is served to the defendant.

What is an Interim AVO?
A
An order made by the court based on the commission of certain offences.
- In force until revoked or a Final AVO has been made
- It can be an extension to a Provisional AVO

What is a Non-Urgent AVO?
A
Not an order but an application to seek an order. Usually applied for when a Provisional has been denied or there are no immedate concerns for the victim.

What is a Final AVO?
A
A Court made order in force for a specified time to ensure the safety and protection of the PINOP.
If the court doesn’t specify a time then it is effect for 2 years.
