Q

What does asbab al nuzul seem to suggest

A

Some people may decide to limit the knowledge and wisdom provided by god strictly to its contextual environment, however this would contradict the everlastingness of the quran and its relevance of revelation.

Q

Why did god gradually reveal the knowledge to the arabs

A

Uneducated arabs were taught in a systematic way over a period of which revelation was given, not burdening the people. Hence there became a need for the science to discover what the arabs were being educated about and what verses pertained to the given event.

Q

Why is surah rad Ayat 7 an invalid argument against the universality of the quran

A

Well for every community and ethnic group god sent a warner and a guide, this suggests the prophet himself is a guide to all of mankind and his group of people is considered the entire ummah (world).

Q

What did the non believers intend by the surah rad ayat 7 in relation to the prophets miracles

A

They would expect something absurd such as every miracle being showed to them however the intention of this vcerse was to present that every nation is brought a miracle compatible with them.

Q

how does surah rad ayat 7 not refute universality in relation to why the actual prophets were sent to each community

A

Each guider sent to a specific group was intended to convey the message along with miracles to demonstrate the cause of belief. However the quran itself can be argued as that living miracle and guide which is now the argument amongst them today.

Q

according to the notion that every community is sent a prophet who demonstrates a miracle their community understands what is its impact in regards to the quran

A

This denotes the quran as the final miracle compatible for all of the communities which will come after it. Also shows that the way of god is unchanging he is still demonstrating a miracle to the communities as the quran is the final revelation and miracle of god.

Q

What is the proof that the meaning of qawm does not necessarily refer to an ethnic group or due to a physical aspect

A

Allah uses examples of the qawm of kafirs, qawm of believers etc and these are/can be made up of people with different ethnicities etc hence proving the terminology is not intended to show use implying race or ethnicity but categorisation of x people under a conception. like the nation of evildoers implies all those who do evil

Q

What is a famous saying of the prophet that implies the quran was not sent only for arabs

A

There is no difference between an arab and non arab, or a roman. Islam was intended for all people and not limited to its historical or contextual environments.

15
Q

what is a verse in the quran suggesting the universability of the quran

A

And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’an that you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it and warn of the Day of Assembly, about which there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise and a party in the Blaze. 42:7

16
Q

what does you may warn the Mother of Cities [Makkah] and those around it suggest

A

as makkah is the centre of earth, everything expanded from that point, suggests that the areas around it are everywhere and the qurans teachings are for everyone.

17
Q

What actions of the prophet suggested that Islam is universal

A

Such that the prophet himself issued around 10 letters to neighbouring communities that didnt have similar faith or ethncities. suggesting it is a religion for all the people and not the arabs only.

18
Q

what is the significance of mekkah then in islam

A

It is the start of where the holy prophet began his message and not the last place of the religion. From Mekkah to all the areas of the world.

19
Q

who is the addresse of the religion of islam

A

The person being addressed is the human being in and of himself. Not his ethnicity race or group per se but the human being himself is a subject of this revelation

20
Q

What ayat suggests that islam will prevail over all other religions such that it will be applicable to all instead of religions specified for an individual group of people

A

It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although they who associate others with Allah dislike it. 9:33

21
Q

what does ya ayu hannaas suggest

A

this is a sign of makki surahs. This suggests the people being addressed in the quran is the human being himself.
