  1. The couple must be married, in a civil partnership, or in a relationship similar to marriage/civil partnership for at least two years (unmarried partners). Fiancé(e)s must be seeking entry to marry.
  2. Both parties must be over 18 years old.
  3. They must have met in person.
  4. They must not be within the prohibited degree of relationship (e.g., siblings).
  5. The relationship must be genuine and subsisting.
  6. Any previous relationships must have broken down (e.g., a divorce certificate must be provided if applicable).
  7. The couple must intend to live together permanently in the UK
