Appendicular Skeleton Flashcards
Label the ends of the Clavicle.
Sternal (medial) end (Has flat end)
Acromial (lateral) end (No Flat end)
Label the borders of the scapula.
superior border (Top part of the scapula)
medial (vertebral) border (Touches spine)
lateral (axillary) border ( opposite of medial border)
Label angles of the scapula.
lateral angle ( Across glenoid cavity)
superior angle (angle near lateral angle)
lateral angle ( tip of shovel/bottom)
Label part of the scapula.
Glenoid Cavity (Flat Part at top)
Subscapular Fossa (No spine on that side)
Suprascapular notch (corner of superior angle)
supraspinous fossa (smaller part of the divided spine)
spine (obvious)
infraspinous fossa fossa ( Large part divided by spine)
Label scapula tubercles
Supraglenoid tubercle ( where glenoid meets Coraciod process)
Glenoid cavity (flat surface)
Infraglenoid tubercle (under glenoid cavity)
Label Scapula Processes.
Acromion process ( bigger one)
Coracoid process ( smaller one)
Label Parts of humerus.
Head (club end)
Anatomical neck ( Line separating head from tubercles)
Greater tubercle (bigger)
Intertubercular sulcus ( Inbetween Greater and lesser)
Lesser tubercle (Smaller than greater)
Surgical neck ( all around under all of the above)
What tuberosity is in the middle of the humerus?
Deltoid tuberosity
Label the Distal end of the humerus. (Anterior)
trochlea (twin bumps with a dip in the middle)
capitulum (ball under lateral epicondyle)
lateral epicondyle (most outward end)
Medial epicondyle (sticks out more and on the inside)
coronoid fossa (large dip above Trochlea)
radial fossa (smaller dip above capitulum)
Label the distal end of the humerus (Posterior)
Olecranon fossa
Label parts of the ulna.
Proximal end
olecranon process (inner upper part of “wrench”)
Trochlear notch (inner middle of “wrench”)
Coronoid process ( inner bottom of “wrench”
Distal end
Styloid process of ulna
Label parts of the radius.
Head (clear head)
Radial tuberosity ( pointy like elbow)
Styloid process of radius (lowest point)
Label parts of the hand.
Three Parts of hand
Carpals ( wrist area)
Metacarpals labeled 1st (thumb) - 5th (pinky) (between phalanges and carpals.)
Phalanges (fingers from proximal to Middle to Distal biggest to smallest)
Label sections of Coxal bone. Label socket and foramen.
Illium ( Large upper part, no foramen)
Ischium ( have spine)
Pubis ( connects to Pubic Symphysis)
Obturator foramen (large hole)
Acetabulum ( socket)
Label parts of Ilium.
Iliac crest (top, make sure. not on spine)
Anterior superior iliac spine ( Top of c like shape)
Anterior inferior iliac spine ( Bottom of C like shape)
Greater sciatic notch ( in between outer ring of foreman)
Posterior superior iliac spine (above, not near notch)
Posterior inferior iliac spine (Near notch)
