luminal obstruction- could be caused by lymphoid hyperplasia, faecolith, parasites, tumour

Typical px
A
febrile dehydrated Rovsing's sign + McBurney's point tenderness pain starts centrally and moves to RIF psoas and obturator signs

why does the pain move from central abdomen to RIF
A
inflammation of the visceral peritoneum occurs first then the parietal peritoneum gets inflamed, hence the movement of the pain.

what is psoas sign?
A
pain on hip extension- ask patient to lift their leg up

pain on internal rotation of hip
