Why is appendicitis a medical emergency?
A
pathogens can get trapped due to obstruction at the point where the appendix meet the bowel. this can cause gangrene and rupture, releasing pathogenic material into the peritoneal lining

A
ectopic pregnancy
ovarian cysts
meckel’s diverticulum (malformation of the distal ileum)
mesenteric adenitis - inflamed abdominal lymph nodes
