A.P.2 Flashcards
Epimysium (Direct Attachment)
attaches the muscle body to other tissue
Sarcolemma
Muscle cell membrane. Able to generate & propagate an action potential.
T-tubules
invaginations or inward extension of the sarcolemma
Sarcoplasm
Cytoplasm
Sarcoplasmic Reticulum
Modified Smooth ER that stores and contains calcium ions when the muscle is in a relaxed state.
Cisternae
abut to the T-tubules (apart of sarcoplasmic reticulum)
Myofibrils are composed of called Sarcomeres
Actin filaments
Myosin Filaments
Titan
When the muscle is in a relax state it prevents the muscle hads from binding to actin at the myosin binding sites.
Ca++ binds to T-T complex causing myosin binding site to be revealed.
ATP binds to myosin and energizes the myosin head
Myosin cocks back attaches to actin and levers
