this tendency in following the beliefs and actions occurs when audience sees others are also conforming

this technique is used by convincing the audience to use selected information and not presenting the complete story. Ex: “a study was done to show that eating peanut butter causes liver cancer”

used to deflect scrutiny away from the issues. it transfers blame to one person or group without investigating the complexities of the issue.
Prop. Deification
when an idea is made to appear holy , sacred or very special and there for above all law
Prop. Artificial Dichotomy
when someone tries to claim that there are only two sides to an issue and that both sides must have equal presentation in order to be evaluated
conceit
develops a comparison which is exceedingly unlikely, but is, nonetheless, intellectually imaginative
claim
when someone gives an argument to support his position
