What is RPE

A

RPE also known as the rating of perceived exertion, as measured by the Borg rating of perceived exertion scale, is a quantitative measure of perceived exertion during physical activity. A 7/10 RPE means you should be at about 7 out of 10 in terms of perceived exertion—or about 70% effort.

What is METs

A

A MET is the ratio of a person’s working metabolic rate relative to the resting metabolic rate. Your MET level would be 1 if you were generally sedentary (e.g. lying down, reading or sitting and talking). Participation in an activity of moderate intensity would result in a MET level of 3–6.
