Farming, logging, land clearing, fishing
Positive effects of technology in outdoor experiences (4)
Safety, increases participation rates, improves connection and experiences to the outdoor environment (more access)
Gives unskilled participants the chance to partake in out door activities with more confidence and awareness
Negatives of technology in outdoor experiences (3)
Alienation- disconnects and removes us from OE
Can become dependent on the technology (won’t know what to do if it stops working)
Disconnects us from experiences
Factors effecting outdoor experiences
SES cultural background Age Gender Physical ability
Explain physical ability
The ability to perform some physical act; contrasting with mental ability
How does PA effect out door ed
Has a huge impact on accessing outdoor experiences
Depending on the type of physical ability, some activities may be near impossible to complete due to safety or practicality
