1st arch
Begins to form part of the maxillary artery and the remainder disappears .
2nd arch
Disappears
3rd arch
Forms the common carotid , the first part of the internal carotid and the external carotid .
4th arch
Forms the aortic arch on the left between the left common carotid /left subclavian , gives rise to part of subclavian on right .
5th arch
Disappears very early there fore is not noted .
6th arch
Forms part of the right pulmonary artery . On left forms left pulmonary artery , remains connected to aorta . = allows diversion of blood away from lungs - ductus arteriosus
Dorsal aorta - will combine to form the descending aorta , also forms remainder of internal carotid .
7th intersegmental artery
Becomes the subclavian :brachial artery
